Custom Hawkeye Jerseys

I've been getting a bunch of questions about the custom jerseys that I ordered for the upcoming football season. My plan is to get a new jersey every year to add to my collection as my Christmas gift to myself. Unfortunately, after the first year we got my Abdul Hodge jersey the manufacture that Gameday and Monticello Sports were using went out of business. I searched high and low for ANYONE out there that could supply a custom jersey but found nothing.

Droid X

I have it.

Is there much more to say than that? Its the newest Motorola model on the Verizon network and its wonderful. There are so many different reviews and feature points out there that it wouldn't be worth it for me to talk about specific details. Instead I'll just say this...I love my purchase. No buyers remorse here.

The phone is a bigger than many previous models but its not insanely huge. Watching videos and doing other multimedia actions is a much more pleasurable experience. I especially enjoy th larger text input box for writing emails or tweets. The best part of the phone for sure.

Mobile First Strategy? No!

No. No. No. No. No! I cringe every time I see someone talk about how we need to put mobile to the forefront of our business. Don't get me wrong, having the ability to provided targeted content (ads included) based upon a users location is going to be necessary. With that said, if your focus is on the devices rather than they way content can be searched then you have foolishly missed the mark.

YOURLS QR Codes

I wrote in an earlier post about YOURLS, a personal URL shortener system wrote in PHP. I read recently that Google made an addition to their shortener service that allowed a user to append ".qr" to the end of the link and display the associated QR code of the link. It was such a great idea, that I decided to see if that could be integrated inside of YOURLS. Guess what, it was pretty darn easy!

B3 Bot WRM Plugin

The Big Brother Bot is a python based log parser that provides an extra layer of administration for PC based online gaming. B3, as its referred, checks for specific events and then dulls out automated responses. Its great for ensuring a mutiplayer gaming server is controlled without prejudice. It also allows certain users to have elevated privileges in order to provide higher functionality. The B3 bot is a must-have for any group wishing to provide a better gaming experience with the ability to control the server with ease.

Chrome Browser on City of Cedar Rapids Website

Found a nice little bug when I went to view the City of Cedar Rapids home website using my Chrome browser. When I first encountered this issue, I thought that everything was just condensed so small that I couldn't read it. After I got fed up with continually having to switch to IE tab I realized that the issue was something a little different. Once I scrolled all the way down to the bottom, I was able to get to the content that I desired. It appears that the menu system that is implemented on the page is causing a weird effect that breaks everything. It is much easier to show you a picture of what I encounter.

Iowa football 2010

I like to think that I have been pretty reasonable when it comes to predicting the season records in years past. My highlight came in 2006 when I said we would go 6-6 before the year started. It was the first time I made it to the spring practice and I wasn't impressed one bit. Truthfully, we won games I thought we would lose and lost games I thought we would win. So, I like to think I don't drink the kool-aide just for the sake of following recruiting.

Cedar Rapids Mobile Speed Vehicle Test Deployed Today

From the Cedar Rapids city website today, it looks like all systems are a go for its newest revenue stream, and I'm not talking bout the red light cameras. The first trial run of the "mobile speed vehicle" was successful according to the latest news release. Today's 166 violators (it nabbed in 90min) will be happy to know that they will get off scot-free but tomorrow begins the real deal. I can't say that its really a waste of taxpayers money though, claiming to nab a driver going 55mph in a 25mph school zone is probably a good thing. Here is the details of the press release.

iPrep 101 with iExtreme 1.61

It seems that the last update that Microsoft pushed is causing the newer games not to play on my Xbox360. You know, to play my saved games and stuff. I needed to get the 1.61 update of the iExtreme software for BenQ drives, but I ran into a bit of trouble trying to get it to work.  The previous flashing I did went off without a hitch and I assumed this would as well. Wrong.
